Biography

Neus Ledesma Vidal (Barcelona, 1989*) is a performer and choreographer based in Bremen. She creates work through interdisciplinary collaborations and looks for ways to agitate the local scene. She is interested in the body as a storyteller and as a facilitator to move and shake thoughts. She explores movement through the lens of other media such as text, images, memories, and understands collaboration as a working method from the beginning of every artistic process. Biography and feminism are often at the center of her projects. Through her recent experience teaching inclusive Profitraining, she is currently questioning what are inclusive dance practices within creative settings.

She studied at London Contemporary Dance School (2007-10) and after she worked collectively with Andrea Just (HandMadeDance 2011-17) in Barcelona. Since 2017 she is works in Bremen where she work as a performer, choreographer, and dance teacher. She works regularly with Birgit Freitag, Magali Sander Fett and Pretty Playful Productions.

In 2021 she premiered rebonico, an étude and homage to the folk dance of her hometown. In 2022, alongside colleagues Gabriela Valdespino and Farzad Golghasemi, she produced and curated RESTORE_, a series of site-specific performances in the West of Bremen. In October 2022, she created Las Otras, a piece about female space exploration and placemaking.

Since the summer 2022, she is member of the new generation of TanzKollektivBremen (TKB), a platform for contemporary dance and performance.

She is currently establishing an artistic bridge between Barcelona/València and Bremen: In 2023, she collaborated with the fine artist Jorge Julve on a long-distance experiment between body and image. The premiere of Flesh and Flowers is coming up in November 2024, a piece framed in a format where Neus fulfils her personal desire to become the curator of a team at the disposal of an idea, and  therefore invited Laura Alcalà (La Súbita) to choreograph a piece for TKB.
